Back Pocket Buzz
This is a fun, flirty, and high-energy country line dance track designed to become a viral sensation. Titled "Back Pocket Buzz," the song is a playful anthem about ignoring the constant notifications from your phone to live in the moment on the dance floor. With an infectious blend of a funky synth bassline and a classic fiddle hook, it's a modern honky-tonk banger with a built-in, easy-to-learn dance move.
[Intro] (A four-on-the-floor drum machine beat and a funky, pulsing synth bassline kick in. A phone vibration sound effect BZZZ-BZZZ is heard, then cut off by a slide from a fiddle that launches into the main, catchy hook.) [Verse 1] Neon lights are flashin', got a good drink in my hand The DJ's playin' somethin' from a rockin' country band You pulled me to the middle of this worn-out wooden floor And I ain't felt a feeling quite like this one here before Yeah, your hand is on my waist, and you're spinning me around The best Saturday night I think I've ever found. [Pre-Chorus] But just as you were leanin' in to whisper in my ear I felt that old vibration, the one I didn't wanna hear! My ex is textin', mama's callin', work is sendin' notes... My whole life's in a panic, and it's right here in my coat! [Chorus] (The music hits its peak energy. The fiddle hook is prominent.) Oh, I got that back pocket buzz, buzz, buzzin' again! But tonight my only business is right here with you, my friend! So let's stomp, stomp, sway to the left, and sway to the right! Put your hand on your back pocket and just tell the world 'goodnight'! Yeah, that back pocket buzz ain't killin' my vibe tonight! [Verse 2] That little screen is full of drama, full of static and of dread But you're right here in front of me, gettin' messes in my head In a good way, in a fun way, yeah, you're smilin' at me now And there ain't no notification that's as real as this, somehow So let 'em wait, let 'em wonder, let 'em all just stand in line 'Cause for the next three minutes, boy, your time is all mine. [Chorus] Oh, I got that back pocket buzz, buzz, buzzin' again! But tonight my only business is right here with you, my friend! So let's stomp, stomp, sway to the left, and sway to the right! Put your hand on your back pocket and just tell the world 'goodnight'! Yeah, that back pocket buzz ain't killin' my vibe tonight! [Instrumental Break] (The fiddle and a twangy telecaster guitar trade short, fiery, and incredibly catchy solos over the funky synth bass and drum groove. This section is pure, joyful dance energy.) [Bridge] I'm puttin' it on silent, I'm puttin' it away 'Cause whatever's on that screen can wait until another day! Right now is you and me and this beat that's droppin' low! So come on, darlin', one more dance before we have to go! [Chorus] (The final chorus, with ad-libs from the singer.) Oh, I got that back pocket buzz, buzz, buzzin' again! (Oh, it's buzzin'!) But tonight my only business is right here with you, my friend! So let's stomp, stomp, sway to the left, and sway to the right! (Sway to the right!) Put your hand on your back pocket and just tell the world 'goodnight'! Yeah, that back pocket buzz ain't killin' my vibe tonight! [Outro] (The music fades with the main fiddle hook and the synth bass.) (Singer, ad-libbing) Ain't killin' my vibe... No, no, no... Just buzz, buzz, buzzin'... go away now...

Training & Teaching Guide
Step Breakdown for Beginners
Heel Grind: Touch one heel forward, then with weight on the opposite foot, twist the forward heel from side to side as if grinding something out.
Coaster Step: A three-step pattern, e.g., "step back, step together, step forward." In this routine, it's simplified after the grind to just a step back.
Side Shuffle: A three-step pattern moving sideways, also known as a Chassé. e.g., "side, together, side."
Shimmy: A continuous shaking of the shoulders, keeping the rest of the body relatively still. It should be fun and playful.
Teaching Tips
The key to this dance is attitude! Encourage dancers to be sassy and playful, especially during the Shimmy and the final "Back Pocket" pose.
Emphasize the lyrical connection for counts 17-32. The stomps lead into the "buzz, buzz, buzzin'" (Shimmy), and the side sways lead into the signature "put your hand on your back pocket" move. This makes the routine much easier to remember.
The Heel Grinds can be tricky for absolute beginners. You can substitute this with simple Heel Touches forward if needed to make the dance accessible to all levels on the floor.
Practice Flow
Drill counts 25-32 first. This is the "money" step and the signature part of the dance. Once everyone has the back pocket pose down, it builds confidence.
Drill counts 17-24 next, connecting the stomps and the shimmy to the signature move. This completes the second half of the dance.
Drill the first 16 counts separately. Once clean, connect the first half to the second half.
Practice the full 32-count routine slowly, then bring it up to the song's tempo.
Choreographer's Notes
This choreography was designed to be a fun, energetic, and slightly sassy dance that perfectly matches the vibe of the music. The goal was to create a routine that's easy enough for most dancers on a Saturday night but has enough personality to become a viral sensation, thanks to the direct lyrical call-outs in the second half.
